Sarah Aquino Announces Candidacy for Folsom City Council

FOLSOM – Sarah Aquino, a Folsom Cordova Unified School District Trustee since 2014, announced today that she will run for Folsom City Council in November. Aquino stated “I am running for City Council to bring my record as an independent thinker who will ask the tough questions on behalf of taxpayers and residents. I’m proud to call Folsom home and am committed to ensuring it remains a great place to live and work.”
Aquino has already received a handful of endorsements from community leaders including Folsom Mayor Steve Miklos, Council Member Andy Morin, former Sheriff John McGinness, former Assemblyman Roger Niello, former Congressman Doug Ose, former Supervisor Roberta MacGlashan, former Folsom Mayor Bob Holderness, and Folsom Cordova Unified School District Trustees JoAnne Reinking, Zak Ford, and Chris Clark.
Council Member Andy Morin, who has stated publicly that he will retire when his term ends this year, announced his support of Aquino saying, “I am proud to endorse Sarah for City Council. She has been an accessible and effective school board member and her common sense leadership would be a great addition to the council.”
Aquino, a licensed life and health insurance agent, currently serves on the Citizens’ Advisory Committee for Folsom State Prison and California State Prison, Sacramento. Her past affiliations include Chair of the Board of Directors of the Folsom Chamber of Commerce, City of Folsom Library Commissioner, Russell Ranch Elementary PTA President and Folsom Cordova Education Foundation Board Member.
